Frequently Asked Questions about VOTING!

What do I bring to polls?

You need to bring an ID issued by the State of Indiana or the U.S. government which displays your name, photo, and an expiration date. An Indiana driver’s license works for this.

Where can I vote?

You can go to Indiana Voters (https://indianavoters.in.gov) to find polling places near you in Brownsburg, Lebanon, Whitestown and Zionsville. When early voting has been announced, we will post those locations/times here.

What if I'm at college?

College students who register to vote at their home address are able to vote absentee by mail from school as long as they submit the application by October 24, 2024 at 11:59 PM. When you fill out the application, write your home address under "Registration Address" and your college address under "Mailing Address."

How do I vote absentee?

To vote early/absentee in-person, you need your ID. You can vote in-person within 28 days up until Election Day. We will post early voting hours here once the clerks release those dates/times. For questions, please call the Boone County Clerk’s Office at 765-482-3510 and Hendricks County Department of Voter Registration and Elections at 317-745-9249.

What about mail-in ballots?

You are eligible to vote by mail if:
1 - You won't be in town on Election Day.
2 - You have a disability.
3 - You are at least 65 years of age.
4 - You are scheduled to work during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open.
5 - You or someone you are caring for will be confined due to illness or injury during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open.
6 - You are a member of the military or a public safety officer.
7 - You don't have transportation to the polls.

You can download and submit the application by going to Indiana Voters (https://indianavoters.in.gov) and logging into your “my voter portal” page.

DEADLINE is: October 24, 2024 at 11:59 PM. If your application is accepted, your mail-in ballot will be mailed to you. County election officials must receive your mail-in ballot by 6:00 PM on Election Day. We strongly encouraging you apply for a mail-in ballot EARLY.
